Power Supply Construction
Construction of high voltage power transmission systems is one of the latest areas of activity of Merks, but already it brings along significant scope of performed works. Extensive experience in such works, gained in Estonia, served as a significant contributing factor and simultaneously as challenge to take up and continue work in this field in Latvia as well.
By actively working since 2014 we have reconstructed or built new such substations in Latvia as 110kV substation in Aloja, 330kV substation in Aizkraukle and 110kV substation in Skrunda. At the moment we are working on reconstruction of Ķegums HES-2 substation.
Merks has created a competitive power supply construction department with a strong team, with its brigades is already capable of performing both management of such projects and installation works in Latvia. Most of the transmission system plants we have built have been turnkey projects so Merks has assumed full liability for both the design of the plant and the installation works.
Merks has the goal to develop, improve and reinforce its activities in power supply construction, increasing our work scopes both in high voltage and low voltage systems.
